Sponsor A Child

Lihini is the only child and lives with her parents in a rural village in the Moneragala district of Sri Lanka. Her father and mother work as seasonal farmers, facing uncertainties regarding their income and livelihood. In addition, Lihini’s mother also attends to the house work and tries to  manage the household with limited resources. Lihini helps her mother with the sweeping and cleaning of the house and accompanies her to the woods to gather fire wood for their cooking.  During her free time, she loves to ride bicycles, make play houses, play with dolls and friends, dance and play hide and seek.  Their house is built with wattle and sticks and their floor is cemented.  The roof is covered with zinc sheets. They have electricity, but they do not possess proper sanitary facilities and obtain water from a neighbor’s well.  By sponsoring Lihini she will get an opportunity to live a happy and contended life and look forward to a bright future.
