Tashith is very happy when he is riding bicycles, making play houses and playing with his friends. He is a cute little boy and lives with his sister and parents in a beautiful village located in the Moneragala district of Sri Lanka. His village is green and lush but it is also poverty-stricken and Tashith’s household is no exception. The annual income earned by his father is around USD520/- by working as a Cultivator. His mother attends to the house work, looks after the children and tries to manage the house expenses with their small income, but it is difficult as the cost of living is rising daily. The family lives in their own house. It is a partially built house which has been constructed with bricks. The floor is cemented and the roof is covered with asbestos sheets. They are fortunate to enjoy electricity and proper sanitary facilities and use water from their own well. If a kind hearted person were to step forward to help little Tashith he would be able to reach out for a better future for himself with confidence and the burden of his parents would be reduced greatly.
