Leah is a playful and happy girl who comes from a family of seven members living under the care of both parents in the mid-western part of Uganda in a community characterized by subsistence farming. Leah enjoys playing ball games with siblings during their free time. Her parents earn a living through peasant farming growing food crops like maize, beans, and cassava majorly for home consumption, however, conditions always force them to sell off the little harvest to generate income to cater for family basic needs like medical care, shelter, clothing, and education, but all this is not realized because of the low and poor crop yields. On average a month, they earn approximately 12 US dollars which can only afford two loaves of bread. Her family have no access to clean and safe drinking water, the only available borehole serves thousands of the population hence forcing her family to fetch water from the nearby river Nile which exposes them to dangerous water animals. Your golden choice to sponsor Leah will give her family access to livelihood empowerment programs, clean and safe drinking water.
