Shashindu is a little child who is too young to attend school. He and his brother live with their parents in a lovely village in Moneragala, Sri Lanka. Shashindu likes to get together with his brother and play games and also to make play houses. His father does all kinds of labor work to earn a living while facing uncertainties regarding the income, while his mother manages the household expenses on a tight budget and looks after her children. Despite these hardships, they are fortunate to have their own fully completed house which has been constructed with cement blocks and their floor is concreted. The roof is covered with asbestos sheets. Shashindu’s family does not have access to proper sanitary facilities of their own or electricity. They use a water sealed toilet, electricity and tap water of their parent’s house. Despite the difficulties they face, Shashindu’s family strives to make the best out of their circumstances. Help and support received from a kind Sponsor will help them to improve their living conditions, and offer a brighter future for Shashindu so that he could attend to his education successfully in the future.
