Shantel is a cheerful young girl. She has one sibling, a sister. She stays with her father and mother in Rufunsa district which is located in the Eastern part of Lusaka the capital city of Zambia. Her parents are subsistence farmers who mainly grow maize as their staple food crop, however yields are always low because of infertile soil, unpredictable weather condition and poor cultivation methods. There annual income is $300 but this cannot meet their basic needs adequately, as a result the father has resorted to do piece works in order to meet the needs of the family. Due to this reason the family has decided to enroll Shantel for sponsorship. Shantel is not in pre-school yet as she is still young. She is fairly healthy and enjoys playing with toys. Your support through sponsorship will leave a lasting impression on Shantel’s face.
