Abishek is a bright and joyful young boy who walks 3km each day to attend primary school. His favorite subject is Sinhala Language, where he excels in learning and expressing himself. After school, he loves to play with his friends, their laughter and energy filling the days with happiness. He shares a close bond with his brother, and together they bring warmth to their home. He lives with his family in a destitute community in the Monaragala district of Uva Province, Sri Lanka. Their house is only half-built, with cement walls, a cement floor, and a roof made of clay tiles. Though they have electricity and basic sanitary facilities, the family relies on water from a common well, adding to their daily struggles. His mother is his primary caretaker, nurturing him with love, while his father works hard as a farmer, earning a very low income that barely sustains them.
