Thales is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his mother, Mariane, and with a brother, in a rural community in the interior of the state of Ceara. Their simple home has brick walls, ceramic tile floors and a clay-tiled roof. It is self-built and has a tiny bathroom. The father takes some odd jobs as an unskilled laborer when available (away from the home) and the family receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Thales is cheerful and intelligent. He likes playing with balls and toy cars, and just running around. Thales is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He attends nursery school and loves painting and coloring. Through your support Thales and his family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, education and nutrition.
