Lydia is a brave, jolly and friendly girl. She lives in North Eastern Uganda with both parents and her sister. She is currently the youngest in the family. Her parents are subsistence farmers, growing traditional crops on an acre piece of land as their major source of livelihood. They grow maize, beans, millet, cassava and vegetables. Unfortunately, the yield has been on a declining trend due to over cultivation. The yield cannot provide the family with enough food to sustain them through the year besides getting income to acquire other basic needs. The family average income per month is less than US 10 dollars. Lydia has not started her education journey due to her tender age but enjoys playing with sand and water with her age mates. Her favourite fruit is an Orange. We are hopeful that with your kind support to Lydia, she can achieve a lot in life.
