Thiruni is a sweet little girl who walks 2km each day to attend primary school, where she eagerly learns Sinhala and Tamil, her favorite subjects. She has a passion for dancing, finding joy and freedom in every graceful movement. Thiruni shares her life with her sister, and together they grow up in a destitute community in the Monaragala district of Uva Province, Sri Lanka. Their family lives in a house that belongs to another relative, a simple structure with brick walls, a cement floor, and a roof made of asbestos sheets. While they have electricity and basic sanitary facilities, their life remains a daily struggle. The family relies on water from their protected well, a precious resource in their challenging environment. Her mother is her primary caretaker, while her father works tirelessly as a farmer. Despite his hard work, the familys annual income is very low. Sponsorship offers Thiruni a chance to embark on a long-term journey toward a brighter future, filled with hope and opportunity.
