Thewjana Dissanayake, a lively boy from Sri Lankas Monaragala District, lives with his parents and three sisters in their own unfinished home. The house, constructed with brick walls, a cement floor, and an asbestos sheet roof, is equipped with electricity, water from their well, and toilet facilities. His father works part-time as a farmer, while his mother is a homemaker. Together, they earn an annual income of approximately $800. Despite their efforts, the family faces challenges in providing three nutritious meals daily and covering educational expenses for their children. Thewjana assists his mother by washing clothes and cleaning, contributing to the households daily tasks. He enjoys playing hide and seek with his sisters, finding joy in these simple games. He attends a primary school located 1 kilometer from their home, walking there daily with his sisters. A sponsorship would greatly alleviate the familys financial strain, ensuring Thewjanas continued education and a brighter future for his siblings.
