Dorcus is a young friendly girl who comes from Turkana County in the Northern Kenya. She lives with her grandmother and one brother. They live in a simple, grass-thatched house with mud walls. The family gets their water from a nearby borehole whose water is not clean thus predisposing the child and the family to water borne diseases. The grandmother is the main breadwinner of the family, who weaves mats, baskets and traditional trays for sale to meet the family needs. The family’s annual income is less than US $ 360, which is not enough to cater for family basic needs. The grandmother approached the project for assistance. Dorcus attends school and she enjoys mathematics and English activities. Her hobby is singing and dancing. She likes making new friends. At home, she helps her grandmother in fetching water, cleaning and gathering firewood. Your support will bring a lasting change in her life and the family at large.
