Nancy is a respectful girl who lives in Turkana County in the northern part of Kenya. She lives together with her parents and a brother. They live in a communal land in a grass thatched house with mud smeared walls. They get their water from a nearby river which exposes them to waterborne disease. The mother is the bread winner who depends on making and selling charcoal. The family’s annual income is less than US $ 360 which hardly meets their basic needs. This challenge has forced the family to struggle hard to get food, medical care, school supply, house supply and other necessities. Nancy goes to a nearby school in the village, she does well in counting and drawing. Nancy likes playing with her friends during her free time. Community leaders referred the parents to seek help from child fund project to assist Nancy achieve her dreams. According to her parents, Nancy would like to be a teacher in future.
