Shemmy is a lovely young girl from Turkana County in Northern Kenya. She lives with both parents. They live in a palm thatched roofed hut with mud walls that leaks during the rainy period. This poses a health risk to the family and the child who is very young making her vulnerable to respiratory diseases like pneumonia. The family lives in a communal land, as they do not own land. The parents engage in casual jobs to supplement the family income. The mother weaves brooms for sale while the father on the other hand occasionally rides motorbike for hire in which the income is used to supplement the family’s needs. The family’s annual income is below US $ 360, which is not sufficient to meet all the family basic needs. As a result, her mother came to the office to seek for support to salvage her future. Shemmy is enrolled in a nearby school. She likes playing with toys. The mother would like Shemmy to be a nurse when she grows up. Through your support her life and that of the family will positively improve.
