Alen is a quiet boy who lives in the capital of Mozambique. He lives with his parents and siblings. His father is the bread winner of the family. He works very hard but he earns very little money. It is not enough to afford food and cover other expenses they have. Alen and his family live in a self-built house with stone walls. They have running water, but they find it difficult to pay the bill. Alen helps his family with the chores around the house. He often sweeps the yard and washes the dishes. On his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer. He attends primary school and his favorite subject is Portuguese. In future, he would like to be a teacher. They are not secure because they never know what they get each day for eating. Sometimes they starve. They have two meals per day. Alen participates in the program where he will receive support in the areas of health, education, nutrition and recreation.
