Welse is a young girl who resides with his parents in a neighborhood on the outskirts of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. The region is characterized by a hot and humid climate for the majority of the year. Their home, which they have constructed themselves, is composed of bare concrete block walls and a rusty zinc sheet roof. It is located in a damp slum prone to erosion during the rainy season. The residence has basic amenities such as running water and electricity; however, the toilet facilities are substandard. The father is not formally employed; he is a handyman whose income is inconsistent and negligible, falling significantly short of meeting the most pressing needs of the family. Consequently, their living conditions are marked by extreme poverty and the absence of many basic essentials. Welse is currently enrolled in elementary school, and his childhood aspiration is to become a police officer in the future. In his leisure time, Welse enjoys playing soccer and cards. The family has sought assistance from the program, where Welse will certainly receive support in the areas of health, education, nutrition, and recreation.
