Marie is a brave girl who is living with her parents in a family house that is roofed with old zinc in a rural community, north of Sierra Leone. The house does not have good toilet facility, electricity and clean water to drink. They fetch their water in an open well which causes sickness like diarrhea. Marie sleeps on the floor spreading local mat without mosquito net. Her parents engage in farming, they grow rice, cassava, and ground nut. The mother also sells cooking ingredients at home whiles the father also burns charcoal as source of income. Their combined annual income hardly meets the family basic needs. They depend on two meals a day. Marie loves playing with her friends. She is healthy and doing fine. With sponsorship she can live in a healthy environment where she will be educated and make a better future.
