Mamadu is a smart boy who lives with his parents and sister in a deprived community in the northerneastern part of Sierra Leone. They dwell in a two-bedroom mud bricks house with unpaved dirt floors. Their house also lack electricity. His father is a small scale farmer and the mother grows vegetables. Their combined monthly income is about US$ 80.00 which is inadequate to meet the basic needs of the family. They access drinking water from a small stream which is about 30 minutes walk to and from their house. He is attending primary school in his village but lacks most of the materials needed for education. Mamadu is very clever and does well at school. At night, they study with the use of a solar light. Mamadu is in good health despite the living condition of his family. Sposorship will go a long way to help Mamadu and family live a better life.
