Majorine is a humble and disciplined girl living with her parents in a homestead of two rooms with a packed dirt floor. She is friendly and dodge ball is her best game. Her family earn a living through small scale farming, their seasonal average income hardly exceeds US 20 dollars. Besides the father engages in hawking mangoes but this is a seasonal business. The irregular income earned is insufficient to meet basic needs like clothing, medical care, good shelter and nutrition. Family sometimes feasts on one meal a day especially in dry seasons when food is scarce as a result of continued utilization of small piece of land which gives low yields that lasts for a short time. Majorine is enrolled in school and performs well in English and social studies. She often goes to school on empty stomach and without scholastic materials but rather write on pieces of papers. For fun, she enjoys wrapping balls out of soil with age mates. She dreams of becoming a teacher one day however, her dream may not be achieved if not supported. Your kind support will raise hope for her career.
