Salifu lives in a small village in the west coast region of the Gambia. He has one brother and three sisters and they all live together in the same household. He is not enrolled in school because he has not attained the minimum school going age as enshrined in the education policy of the Gambia. His parents are subsistence farmers and they cultivate crops seasonally to provide food, shelter and clothing for the family. His parents annual earnings do not exceed $400.00 annually meaning education and health expenses are hardly met. Thus sponsorship will greatly enhance his potentials and well being in the future.
